Advantages
Long-lasting seal
The Marine Pump Mechanical Seal controls leakage within the range of 10–50 ml/h through the high-precision sealing surface (surface roughness Ra<0.8 μm) between the dynamic and static rings. The sealing surface is designed with mechanical preload and spring loading, which can be applied to 0.6–2.5 MPa pressure conditions.
Corrosion-resistant materials
The sealing elements are usually made of silicon carbide, tungsten carbide, graphite and FKM or EPDM elastomers. They are resistant to salt spray, oil and weak acid and alkali, and are suitable for media such as seawater, coolant and fuel. The Marine Pump Mechanical Seal has a continuous operating life of more than 20,000 hours in an environment with a pH value of 6–9 and a salinity of 3%–5%.
Cartridge structure
The Marine Pump Mechanical Seal adopts a cartridge structure. The pre-assembled form is easy to install and disassemble. The average replacement time is controlled within 30 minutes, and no additional processing of the shaft or pump body is required.

FAQ
Q: Does Marine Pump use single-end seal or double-end seal?
A: Most marine centrifugal pumps use single-end seals, which are simple in structure and easy to maintain, and are suitable for normal working conditions such as clean water and fresh water. If the pumped liquid contains particles, high pressure or is a hazardous medium (such as crude oil, ballast water, etc.), double-end seals or seal structures with flushing and cooling systems are required to improve seal stability and life.
Q: What are the common causes of Mechanical Seal leakage?
A: Leakage is mostly caused by improper installation, excessive shaft runout, seal surface wear, spring failure or O-ring aging. The seal surface may also overheat due to dry friction during pump operation. Regularly checking the bearing status, preventing vibration, and using the correct lubricant are key measures to prevent leakage.
Q: What are the precautions for installing Marine Mechanical Seal?
A: Before installation, the finish and runout tolerance of the sleeve must be checked, and there must be no impurities in the seal cavity. Professional tools should be used to install the seal to avoid crushing the seal surface. After assembly, the coupling must be rotated manually to ensure that the shaft rotates smoothly without jamming, and the spring compression amount must meet the requirements before it can be started.
Q: How to perform routine maintenance and replacement cycles?
A: Check leakage, bearing temperature and abnormal noise every month; if seal leakage increases or pump operating current is abnormal, stop the machine immediately to check the seal assembly. The general seal life is 8000-12000 hours, depending on the operating conditions. It is recommended to replace the seal at the same time during each overhaul to avoid disassembly and assembly during the process, which increases maintenance costs and downtime risks.
